Our client is a creative studio based in Oxford. Seek aproven PHP developer to join our team. We are ideally looking for 3 years’minimum experience of PHP programming. A strong academic background is alsopreferred, with a degree in computing, science, mathematics or similar, orequivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities:

 You will be joiningan existing development team to:

 - Participate in thedesign and implementation of PHP websites, applications and services

- Maintain and improve legacy code

 - Create and maintainnew reusable company code libraries

 - Work to deadlineswhilst maintaining a high quality of coding, adhering to company codingstandards and guidelines

 - Communicateeffectively with team members and other stakeholders

Skills:

 - Excellent PHP,MySQL and problem-solving skills

 - Knowledge andexperience of OOP and MVC frameworks (ideally Symfony 2)

 - Highself-motivation and initiative- taking

 - Good knowledge ofHTML, CSS, JavaScript (including jQuery)

 - Good communicationand team-working skills

 - Familiarity withuse of IDEs, debugging, logging, automated testing (PHPUnit, TDD), and versioncontrol systems (Git, Perforce, SVN)

 - Basic knowledge oflinux OS and command line tools

Non-essential, but desirable skills:

 - Good knowledge ofnetwork protocols

 - Linux serveradministration experience

 - Experience of Agiledevelopment methods (Scrum, Kanban, DSDM)

 - Experience workingwith and implementing 3rd party APIs (eg. Facebook)

 - Front-end designflair

 - Basic Ruby on Rails
