About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technical Game Designer to join our team and help bring our game worlds to life. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, and be confident working directly within the engine/editor to design and implement complex gameplay systems.You’ll collaborate closely with designers, artists, and programmers to create engaging gameplay experiences — from NPC behaviours and combat systems to quests and player interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and implement gameplay mechanics directly in Unreal Engine.
- Develop and fine-tune NPC behaviours, combat systems, quests, and related gameplay features.
- Work closely with other disciplines to ensure high-quality integration of design and technical elements.
- Balance gameplay features for fun, challenge, and performance.
- Debug, test, and iterate on gameplay features to ensure optimal player experience.
- Contribute to documentation and share best practices across the design team.
RequiredSkills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical or Systems Designer within the games industry.
- Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine (Blueprints and/or C++ exposure).
- Comfortable working hands-on in the Unreal editor.
- Demonstrated ability to implement gameplay features independently.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desirable/ Preferred
- Experience designing or scripting AI/NPC behaviour trees.
- Familiarity with combat and quest systems in action or RPG titles.
- Understanding of performance optimisation and debugging in Unreal.
- A passion for crafting memorable gameplay experiences.
